Men and women are affected by sexual ailments with a higher frequency in today’s world. In men, erectile dysfunction is a matter of concern. Erectile dysfunction is an ailment that can hamper relations, leading to many psychological problems like depression, guilt, lack of confidence, etc. In fact, erectile dysfunction can also affect the physiological functions of a person. It has often been categorized as an underlying symptom of many cardiac and neural ailments.

In this world, medications have been developed that help in treating erectile dysfunction. These pills are called ED pills and are often available online at affordable rates. There is a huge roster of choices one can take to purchase the medication for their problem. One of the well known pills is Viagra. Viagra is in fact, the first oral ED pill developed by Pfizer.

Viagra was developed as an accident. In the Pfizer Laboratories, Sildenafil was being tested as a cardiovascular drug because of it properties to lower blood pressure. However while testing the drug the researchers found that the drug had the ‘side effect’ of causing erections that were harder, firmer and lasted longer. With time, the cardiovascular drug became the first ED pill to be developed. In 1998 Viagra was given FDA Approval for oral consumption for ED treatment.

Overview

Viagra is an ED pill. The generic name is Sildenafil Citrate, which is a PDE5 inhibitor. With its inception in 1998, Viagra has come up with many variants, helping so many people revisit their relationship and live happily again. PDE5 inhibitors influence the blood level in the blood vessels of the penis. Erectile dysfunction, as we all know, is caused by the lack of accumulated blood in the blood vessels.

PDE5 inhibitor based ED pills like Viagra relax the muscles of the male genitals. This allows blood to gush into the vessels causing an erection that is firm enough for intercourse, lasting longer than usual.

Viagra is however a strong ED drug hence proper care should be taken so that there are no unwanted medical consequences. Overdosing can have many effects that might even lead to death in some cases.

Following are some of the symptoms of overdosing of Viagra:
  • Fluctuations in blood pressure
  • Heartbeat irregularities
  • Blurry vision
  • Sudden decrease or loss of hearing
  • Dizziness
  • Ringing in ears

Medical professionals state that Viagra usually stays in the blood for 24 hours, hence it is recommended to take one pill of Viagra a day, as needed. Also there is the question of the strength of the medication taken. Viagra comes in power ranges of 100 mg, 150 mg and 200 mg for the generic versions. Taking the ED pill can help in proper strength and doses can help in effectively fighting the ailment and lead a happy and satisfied life.
